AIR-TO-AIR-HEAT ENGINEERING

ENGINEERING

Various experiments in the laboratory

Total heat exchanger performance test (Efficiency Test)

Test method

① Korea , JIS (Actual performance including fan motor heat)

② AHRI (Only Heat exchanger efficiency excluding fan motor heat)

Procedure of Heat transfer efficiency test

a) Shown in Figure 1, heat transfer tests are performed, and temperature efficiency, humidity efficiency, and enthalpy efficiency are obtained.

b) Supply and return airflow are regulated identically (within ±10%) by controlling fan speed.

c) Temperatures and flow rates are measured.

d) Coefficient of energy are also measured from heat transfer rate and power consumption.

Calculation

Air leakage Test of ERV core

Test method

① Co2 Chamber Test

② Fan Tester Test

① Co2 Chamber Test

a) Measuring method: The measurement is based on transfer of carbon dioxide.

b) Setting up of the ERV for measuring leakage rate follows the Figure 2.

c) Measurements are performed at the same condition of ERV operation.

d) A sampling sensor which is able to measure concentration of carbon dioxide is located in a duct where the average of carbon dioxide is measured.

② Fan Tester Test

1. Air Leakage test is performed as shown in Figure 1.

2. Pressure Differential : 0 , 50 , 100 , 150, 200 Pa

3. Measuring airflow(CMH) in both conditions of open and closed.

4. Air leakage rate = [“x pressure” airflow in condition of close / “x pressure” airflow in condition of open]*100
